For my sausage twists, which are like pigs in blankets, but with pastry, I used pre-rolled pastry, because it took too long to make!
I rolled out the pastry into thin strips, and cut it up to about 2cm thick.
I wrapped them round the sausages, which cooked very nicely.
I used tomato puree instead of passata, to try and stop is becoming too wet
I've spread the mozzarella out more evenly this time, trying to prevent it from splattering the oven like last time!
My chosen toppings were anchovies and tuna on one side, and pepperoni and strong cheese on the other. As you can see, it cooked much more evenly this time, and tasted excellent!
Pizza Recipe and Method
375g plain flour
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp oil (olive or vegetable)
225 ml hand-hot water
9g packet of yeast, dried or fresh
Add all dry ingredients into a bowl, sieving the flour
Keep the yeast and the salt/sugar apart
Make a well in the middle with fingers
Add the oil and the water into it
Mix with spoon till it begins to clump; then use hands to mix
Knead slowly until there is a slight shine
Leave to rest, cover the bowl with cling film
Wait till it has doubled in size
Spread out onto pizza plate/ pizza stone (stonebaked)
Add tomato passata/purée/pesto onto base
Add chosen ingredients, if half~n~half leave small gap
Add cheese of choice, mozzarella is a favourite
Put into preheated oven at 190°C for 10-12 mins
Take out and enjoy!!!
This is the method I used, I found it on allrecipes.com
It worked pretty well, and my family liked it.
I made it a half-n-half, with chicken and cheese on one side and tuna and anchovies on the other.
The only ploblem I found was that it was a little wet. Next time, I'll use tomato puree rather than passata.
